Broccoli eaten by caterpillars

My half-grown purple-sprouting broccoli plants have been badly eaten by caterpillars. I’ve picked them all off and covered the plants with fleece. Will they recover?

A: They have plenty of time to recover as long as you can prevent any further attacks. If drought threatens, keep the plants well watered and consider giving a liquid feed or a light dressing of general fertiliser such as chicken manure pellets or Growmore.
