Blistered sprouts
Q: My sprouts have white raised lumps on their leaves – what causes this?
A: The white lumps and bumps are a leaf spot disease known as ‘white blister’. It is very common on sprouts and causes the most damage of all leaf spots.
Spores survive in the soil for two years and will infect new crops so destroy infected plants. Practise crop rotation and don’t add the leaves to your compost heap.
