Avoiding blackspot on roses

Q: How do I get rid of blackspot on roses?

A: It is best to stop blackspot from taking hold in the first place. Keep your roses happy by clearing up diseased leaves from the base of the plant, pruning and mulching in spring feeding in spring and summer and watering well in dry spells should make them less prone to blackspot.
Regular spraying of healthy plants in the growing season will help prevent blackspot from taking hold. Spray every fortnight with Bayer Systhane Fungus Fighter or Scott’s Fungus Clear in spring and summer.
